Richard won a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated in 1994 with Distinction and also winning the Guildhall's coveted Gold Medal. Last year he gained a Ph.D at the University of Birmingham for research on the solo cello sonata of Zoltan Kodaly. He has played many complete cycles of the Bach solo cello suites including at St James' Piccadilly and St. John's Smith Square in London and also in venues in Bridgend, Cardiff, Fishguard, Shropshire and Worcester. Conducting is featuring ever more in Richard's career. He is Musical Director of the British Police Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of St John, Bromsgrove.
